So many years..

I believe I'm right that I first saw David at a Market Research Society conference in Brighton when he was performing as part of the Ogilvy & Mather  Red Braces Revue - which went down a storm with all the delegates.  There was a girl on the piano, songs and skits taking the mickey out of well known market researchers who took themselves way too seriously, and David was definitely in charge and showed his talent for performing.  After that I met him properly when he started going out with Liz, my colleague and good friend, and I was delighted to go to their wedding in Oxford....where David gave the most lovely and moving groom's speech I have ever heard.

In following years I was delighted to be asked to become godmother to Lou, and remember weekends down in the country when I was living in London - one weekend in particular is a hazy memory because a lot of cider was involved..

Liz and David became firm friends of ours, not least because David was someone my husband Tony happened to know separately, while they were both working in London - and in fact, Tony sublet an office from David.  This led to many get-togethers over the coming years, from many long and jolly Christmas lunches together with the family, BBQ's in the garden, quiz nights, pub sessions at The Docks and elsewhere, and so on.  Even more so when Tony and I moved down to Dorset and David and Liz became sort of neighbours.   Our get-togethers were always full of laughter.

We will miss David enormously - he left us too soon.
